Health and Wellbeing Day is huge success

Following on from last year’s Safety Stand Down day, our group health and safety team launched our inaugural Health and Wellbeing Day.

Taking place on Wednesday 17th July, all brands and sites were asked to take part, but given autonomy to arrange events which they felt would best support their teams.

Dan Watts, Head of Group Health and Safety commented; “It was fantastic to see how our leaderships teams at all our business units interpreted the brief and came up with some very innovative ideas to engage staff and deliver positive messages in fun and enjoyable ways.”

Highlights from the day included Cardboard Box Company continuing to work with local business Six Connections to drive positive mental health across its team, Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham) offering mini medicals to all the team whilst the Doncaster and Manchester teams had whole team lunches and played games ranging from darts to corrugated coconut shy!
Meanwhile, teams at Jardin Corrugated, and B&P sites at Leicester, Swindon and Oxford brought in third party professionals to offer workplace and lifestyle wellbeing advice.

Dan concluded; “My sincere thanks to everyone for embracing the day so wholeheartedly and making it a huge success. Taking care of our health and wellbeing in the workplace and through our lifestyles is very important and to raise awareness of this in such positives ways was most pleasing.”
