SUPERB TEAM APPROACH DISPLAYED AT INAUGURAL SAFETY STAND DOWN DAY

20 Jul 2023

Just over a week ago businesses across the Logson Group hosted the first inaugural Safety Stand Down Day.

This saw all sites pause production for a short time to pay specific attention to health and safety and for working groups to assess areas of the businesses in which they did not normally operate.

Consolidation and reminders of our We Make It Safe vision, reporting mechanisms and the importance of ongoing health and safety and continuous improvement was also conveyed to all staff.

Dan Watts, Group Health and Safety Manager, Logson Group commented; “We have some incredibly positive feedback from our sites, and it was great to see everyone getting involved and being so engaged with our ‘We Make it Safe’ aims and objectives.

“My thanks go to the senior team at Logson Group for supporting this day and I look forward to hosting another one in the future to continue the great things we are achieving together.”

Several positive outcomes were achieved at all sites with each team adapting the day to suit individual requirements including updated manual handling training, hazard reporting procedures and development of strategic future plans.

“My thanks to everyone for the enthusiasm they showed this important day and to the team at Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham) for including me in their day,” said David Richardson, CEO, Logson Group. “It is clear that this should become a more regular event in our calendar, and I look forward to working with our health and safety managers to facilitate the next Safety Stand Down Day.”
