£3.5m investment at Boxshop concluded

After an incredibly busy eighteen months, a £3.5m investment programme at one of Scotland’s leading corrugated packaging companies is nearly complete.

Boxshop Ltd, which is situated in East Kilbride and has been established since 1986, entered in to this strategic investment to future proof the business for the next generation, and to be able to support Scottish businesses with the full range of corrugated packaging solutions.

“This has been a hugely important time in the history of Boxshop as we have remodelled the business to increase capacity and capability,” said Jennifer Riddell, Managing Director, Boxshop. “The delivery of a new Bobst Expertflex six colour High Quality Post Printer will allow us to diversify our range of skills and expand our skill set to support our customers and the ever increasing demand for corrugated boxes and packaging.”

As part of the investment, new CAD and design facilities have been established, a designated case making operation created, as well as other machinery and equipment investment coupled with the investment of solar panels on the roof to increase the businesses environmental credentials.

“As full production gets underway in the coming weeks, as our team members complete their training, we and our customers will be able to reap the full benefits of our investments,” said Jennifer. “Now we’re looking forward to working with existing and new customers to showcase the versatility and flexibility of corrugated as an environmentally responsible packaging product.”
